Other than Jesus, there might not be a more popular biblical figure than
David. His life is retold in children's books, brought up in adult
conversations, and even used as sports cliches. And as a result, he's often
remembered as being larger-than-life. Yet, when taking an in depth look at his
life story, we're reminded that along with his great achievements, he
had seasons of intense struggle. In fact, we quickly discover that we have a
lot in common with this larger-than-life figure. In this sermon series, we'll
take a look at the historical life of David and combine it with some of the
raw emotions he wrote in the Psalms. It's one thing to know his
story; it's another to feel his story. We'll examine both and
learn valuable lessons to apply in our lives. Join us in worship on Sunday
mornings at 8:30am or 11am as we take a look at Memoirs of David. ![]() In the first century, people understood the heart to be a person's
psychological core. The heart is the foundation of a person, which leads to
good and bad responses in the world. As a result, it's the uncontrolled heart
that generates all kinds evil, which affects all of our relationships. (Matthew
15:19) Actions and words are merely reflections of the heart. All of us have
the capacity to do evil in this world, but it's the guarded heart that
honors God and gains victory. In this series, we will be exploring sins of the
heart and discovering ways to protect against them. Join us on Sundays during
one of our worship service to determine ways you can Guard Your
Heart.

Facing the end
of His fleshly ministry, Jesus used His last 21 hours in a way no mortal could
ever imagine. He humbly demonstrated and shared some of the most important
lessons we could learn in regard to relating to God
and experiencing His love.
Over the seven Sundays leading
up to Easter, join us in worship as we explore the astonishing
last 21
Hours of Jesus' life.
Together!
As 2013 rolls in, many will commit to some new year's resolutions aiming
to better themselves in the upcoming year. This is a worth endeavor
personally, but it's also healthy to set some goals as a community of
believers. In our next message series called Together,
we'll examine five core commitments that reveal what we do together as
Christ followers at Grace. In this series, you'll be encouraged to step
up your commitment level both personally and communally. So join us
over the first five Sundays in January as we rediscover what we do Together! When Jesus called His disciples to follow Him, He never said it would be
easy. In fact, He often reminded them of the challenges they would
face. As a result, the temptation for all disciples of Christ is to let
fear control us instead of faith when He calls. Fear is always present
when God calls, but we cannot allow fear to guide us away from His
divine leading.
Join us in worship on Sundays at 8:30am or 11am as we explore how to overcome six fears that can cripple a disciple from following God. May the Spirit teach us how to *Fear Not*. ![]() Jesus clearly sought to make disciples. He intentionally
recruited ordinary people to carry out the mission of drawing all people closer
to the Father. But in our modern day culture when we think of disciple-making,
we often envision believers sitting orderly in a classroom setting listening
intently to a skillful presenter of God's truth. Though teaching like this is
important, Jesus' model of disciple-making was very practical; he directly said
"Follow Me." When unpacking the meaning of these two words, even the most
faithful believer quickly learns it's not easy to follow in the footsteps of
Jesus. Yet it is our calling, and we need to know specifically what following
Him looks like. Beginning in October, join us in worship at 8:30am or
11am as we explore the true understanding of what Jesus meant when He said,
"Follow me." Though God desires to be close to mankind and reveal who He is to us, there is
also a very mysterious side of God that cannot be explained. We only get
glimpses of His glory. And like a good mystery novel, the unknown aspects of
God keep us wanting to know more about Him. In this series, we'll explore some
of the mysteries about God. And though we won't be able to unveil everything
concerning the complexity of His Being, we'll revere Him even greater.

Mysterious God.
![]() Life is full of new experiences. Each day has the potential to set in
motion unspeakable joy or intense sorrow that may continue for days, weeks or
even months. During these seasons of life, it's important to understand how we
should respond according to God's Word. Over the next several weeks, we'll be
exploring how God's people dealt with certain valleys of life, and we'll draw
conclusions on how we should respond when we face similar seasons.
